Review: Disney ILY 4EVER

Review: Disney ILY 4EVER

In a world populated by those snooty, perpetually unimpressed-looking "teen model" fashion dolls and extravagant beauty queens with crazy price tags, it's a breath of fresh air to encounter a doll that emanates approachability, friendliness, youth, and an eagerness for adventure.

This picture is from the Disney store, but the rest are mine:

Welcome back, doll people!  Bea here and today we're diving into the enchanting realm of Disney with one of their captivating ILY 4EVER dolls. For some people, it may have taken someone else pointing it out that the name stands for “I love you forever”, it’s me, I’m some people. The name is just as adorable as the dolls themselves.

Raise your hand if you're a Disney aficionado like me! Yep, I unabashedly confess my love for all things Disney. I can’t afford an annual Disney trip, but maybe if I wish upon a star.

Now, onto this gem of a doll – the ILY 4EVER Disney girl that has me gushing. With her fashion choices taking inspiration from the beloved Princess and the Frog, let's delve into the captivating world of this doll and discover the magic she brings.

This doll encapsulates the wholesome charm that Disney is renowned for. Her face radiates with the quintessential Disney allure that fans have cherished for generations. With an endearing smile and those big doe eyes filled with wonder, she embodies the timeless innocence we associate with our favorite on-screen characters. It's like she's channeling our exact emotional expression when we're immersed in a heartwarming Disney movie moment. Not that any of us are actually this cute.

Her hair is beautiful – sleek, black, shiny and, in true Disney princess fashion, long. And the best part? Our doll's hair avoids the dreaded 'glue-head' or matted mess that PE was faced with. Lucky for me there wasn’t too much product holding it in place in the box, except in the two pieces on either side of her face. But I’m going to wash her hair, anyway.

This doll captures the heartwarming appeal that Disney characters are celebrated for. The cheerful expression, those gentle eyes, and the subtle makeup – it all combines to give life to this delightful creation in a way that resonates with Disney's enchanting charm.

But let's shift our spotlight to her outfit, because our girl is rocking that ensemble!

She’s exuding major style vibes in her overall-skirt. The black base almost looks like 70’s corduroy adorned with a charming floral pattern in varying shades of pink, purple, and green (hello, nature vibes!). It’s totally on-theme nod to the movie she pays homage to.

The cute tee beneath, proudly boasting "New Orleans," evokes a feeling of nostalgia from my uni days. And let's not forget those sneakers – a perfect match to her tee – effortlessly tying the whole look together.

And when it comes to accessories, it's a Disney dream come true. The turquoise, sparkly Mickey Mouse ears and the dainty lily pad flower perched atop her precious head are simply enchanting. Makes me wonder if these could be found in the Disney parks' souvenir shops – a delightful nod both to the doll and to lucky park visitors. So jelly!

But wait, there's more to this doll than meets the eye. Each of the Ily 4Ever dolls comes with a Mickey Mouse-themed balloon that harbors a hidden surprise. It's little details like this that awaken our inner child's sense of awe and curiosity. Hats off to the creators for thinking outside the box – or, in this case, inside the balloon!

It looks like a trio of rice crispy treats, dipped in dark chocolate, in the shape of the famous mouse himself. Having not been to the park in recent years, I wonder if this is an actual food you can get while there. That would be pretty cool.

And guess what? This Disney doll isn't just a pretty face. She has the same amount of articulation on her knees, ankles, and wrists as a made-to-move Barbie. Sadly, her upper body isn’t quite as poseable, it’s more like a Fashionista Extra Barbie, or an Integrity Toys doll.

Her feet, hands, wrists, calves, thighs, and even her ankles are thicker and more refreshingly realistic than your typical Barbie, which I really like.  But it means she can't swap shoes with her iconic counterpart.  Hopefully Disney will crank out more fashion packs for these adorable dolls.

Her body shape is also significantly different from a made to move barbie.

Her head is significantly bigger, her legs, torso, and neck appear slightly shorter, she’s wider at the waist, and smaller at the bust and hips. This is giving her a younger, more "teen" vibe and I think this adds to the innocence of the doll. Not that teenagers are innocent, I know I wasn’t! I’m not sure about the painted in underwear, though.

Gosh, that was a long-winded way of saying “She looks less stretched than Barbie”, wasn’t it?

While I've already employed the term "wholesome," it aptly captures the essence of this doll's appeal. I think her shiny, glass eyes add to her overall aesthetic. How about you?

Here’s one last shot of her amazing face. Look at those brows!

Thanks for joining me for this review.  See you next month.

Feeling cute, might be nice and let this rebodied birthday barbie try on my clothes later.
