"Looks" Blonde Ken Review
This is “kEvIn”, who sadly, I haven’t bonded with, at all. Poor guy.
My use of the term “bonding” in this post angered what I can only guess is a mentally unstable bridge troll looking for someone to scream at. I take comfort knowing their next tantrum at Walmart might be less laden with racial slurs (they left plenty in the comment, hopefully they got it out of their system).
Bonding means that I’m inspired by a doll. Eve, for example, inspired this entire blog. It’s all about whether a doll sparks my imagination. If it does, then I’ll give them a name, a character, maybe create little stories for them, and include them in my doll world. I’m not sure what’s offensive about that, but in all honesty, I really don’t give a shit.
Let’s review this guy, shall we? First up: Footwear.
I appreciate a simple pair of sneakers, I really do. The BMR guys came with some weird half-sneakers, sandals, and even a pair of loud, orange platform boots - none of which I’m going to make use of, as much as I’d like to in order to avoid wasting them. Simple sneakers are good, the guys in my world are severely lacking in footwear!
Like his female counterparts, this “The Looks” Ken has a very simple outfit:
I’m not a huge fan of the muscle tee-shirt or the leather pants, but I can think of a few uses for both. Jacinda might get the leather pants, M is on the fence about them. Anywho, this fellow looks a bit like a backup dancer, not necessarily a bad thing, but not really to my taste, either.
This guy sports a bit of flocking, and rooted hair. It’s a nice step away from the plastic hair that Cole has.
What I do love is his full articulation! Logan, Jace, and Manbun (who is currently with Betty) all have the same bodies. I’m happy to see Mattel embracing poseable male dolls - there’s a second one in this wave and another fellow in the 2022 first wave. It’s nice to have more options, especially when I don’t bond with all of the dolls.
In the end, I decided it was best to just rip his head off!
No, this was not an act of senseless violence. He became a body donor for Nicholai, who has suffered with extremely loose hip joints and a lack of mobility for years.
