Social Anxiety

Social Anxiety

I ordered this hoodie for one of my Ken dolls, but you know what? I’m feeling it today on my mini me, and for good reason.

We have plans this Saturday to go see “Thor: Love and Thunder”. The theater nearest us is smaller, which means fewer people swarming, and less social anxiety.

…unless I’m being introduced to someone new. And tomorrow, I will be:
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

I’m comfortable around my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, or at least as comfortable as comfortable as I can be. But tomorrow won’t just be yours truly, my hubby, and them. No, one of them is bringing a significant other. Someone who has gone beyond the casual dating stage and must, dreadingly, be introduced.

It’s not that I don’t want them having meaningful, fulfilling relationships, but meeting new people stresses me out. I’ll do my best, but as the day draws nearer (23 hours to go now), my anxiety flag has been caught in tornado-level winds and is flailing wildly.

I keep telling myself it’s never as bad as I imagine it will be.

I hope I’m right.

Have a good weekend.
