Hello, You.
Forever and a day ago I posted about the new signature 2021 dolls (which aren’t all that new by now). The clusterfuck of the rollout notwithstanding, plebs like yours truly are slowly getting our dolls delivered. I’m hoping the male dolls I ordered will be here by Christmas. Maybe, if I’m lucky?
If you’re still waiting on your dolls: all hope is not lost.
If you’re out of patience: you’re not alone.
I posted the petite Asian doll review already. Today, I’m going to review the drop-dead gorgeous, curvy African American goddess. I said what I said. I’m not sure who has taken over the darker skin toned curvy girls at Mattel HQ, but YES! More like this:
Hot damn these girls are awesome! I was quite impressed with the BMR1959 Curvy Brunette, too. I’ve been hunting for the other half of the 2018 “On the Avenue” set doll for quite a while; I was hoping to gift her to the infamous M. My quest finding her, let alone at a reasonable price, has utterly failed. That said, both M and I agree that this divine creature is all that and a bag of chips.
I mean, wow. Now, depending on who you ask, she resembles quite a few badasses. Domino from Deadpool, Foxy Brown, or Misty Night from Daredevil.
If you’re a customizer, she’s a goldmine. Speaking of gold, my doll seems to have more of a golden tone to her lips and brows, whereas other dolls I’ve seen seem to be more pink.
The outfit is a simple black one-piece jumper and it really fits her body so well.
Mattel, who needs “Extra”, when you have this as an option?
The boots are nothing to write home about, we’ve seen them countless times before, this time they’re just in silver and they’ll fit a curvy doll.
But what about the doll herself?
Well, unfortunately, she, like the Asian petite, is a shedder, too. But other than that? My goodness, she’s amazing. I mean, what complaint could I possibly have about her?
Yeah, I’m gushing, not sorry, either.
If you want her to have pierced ears, you will have to do this yourself - but that’s nothing new for yours truly.
This is a solid 10/10 from me; two very enthusiastic thumbs up. I wish all Mattel dolls were up to this standard.
