Happy Holidays, Everyone
It’s official, this holiday in our household is nice and quiet - ample time to decompress and relax. Ah, just what I needed.
Our place smells delicious. It’s a blend of turkey, the leftovers of the last one went home with everyone and we decided we wanted more, pine from the tree, hot cocoa, and freshly baked gingerbread cookies. Yes, I baked, again…notice how there aren’t a bunch of them in the pictures? Half burned…sigh.
The scent (now that burned cookie has wafted out of the kitchen) is intoxicating and it’s impossible not to get swept up in the nostalgia of the holiday.
With Christmas music filling the cozy space, presents nestled beneath our tree, and snuggly blankets draped everywhere, the only thing that’s really missing is the snow.
There’s a Danish term, “hygge”, and I think we’ve certainly achieved that this year.
I hope everyone has an enchanting holiday. Thanks for stopping by.
