Texture Mixing & Florals
I’m beginning to forget what the sky looks like; we’ve had near permanent cloud cover here for more than week. The sky looks more like a giant, light grey blanket looming over the city. I feel, more than ever, like I need to embrace light, fun, spring looks.
I know, I know, I’m putting a lot of pressure on my ensemble.
This green and delicate pink floral jacket was just the ticket.
I am eager for spring and summer to arrive, so I’ll get a bit more use out of it. The cut enhances my silhouette, and I love the silver button detail on the pocket as well as the pink stitching. It has a rough texture to it, which I felt went really nicely with the soft femininity of this crocheted skirt.
Unfortunately, when I put it together, there was just something “off” about it the outfit. I tried quite a few belts with no luck, then I found some spare olive fabric and simply decided to braid a decorative belt myself. It seems to have worked out well, as it pulled the overall look together.
Sometimes, you just have to make it work ;)
