Tall Boots FTW
Ooof! Hello there. Yikes, it’s been a rough couple of days, I’m afraid I’m feeling a little under the weather (uh oh). Hopefully germs aren’t transmitted through the screen, otherwise, you’re in for a nasty cough. I’m hoping some honey tea, plenty of rest, and being wrapped up in this nice warm blanket for a few days will do the trick. For a few days now Cole has had to run all of our errands and handle the cooking – believe me, we’re both suffering with him in the kitchen.
Today I ventured out briefly, just to the pharmacy to see what they have in the way of sore throat relief and to pick up some painkillers – why do sore throats almost always come with headaches? As if one’s not enough. Anyway, fingers crossed that this passes sooner rather than later. In the meantime, I’m going to be enjoying the snow (yes, you read that right!) from the comfort of the couch in the nice, warm living room.
For those not lucky enough to live in a tropical, or even moderately warm climate – in this moment I’m jealous – figuring out stylish outfits, while fending off sore throats (ahem) can be a bit of a challenge. Between the elements and the layers, it can easily turn into a bulky mess.
This time of year I find I’m wearing my boots quite a bit; comfortable and effortlessly stylish – just how I like it. Not only that, but they add a layer of warmth on my lower limbs that I appreciate. They also happen to hide thick, wool socks, our secret.
Looking back over my posts, I’m surprised that I’ve only worn them once, back when I paired them with layered wool leggings. While it’s a nice look, this time I thought I’d go ahead and pair them with a long skirt, a sheer pair of tights, and this adorable blouse.
Overall, I like the look, though it’s more an “indoors, where it’s still warm enough to survive” look, best kept off the snowy streets – when autumn or spring rolls around again, I’ll give it another go. I think I look quite fetching. There are women here who would dare to wear this outfit now; I honestly have no idea how they manage miniskirts this time of year, as we approach our coldest month (January). I guess I’m just not that brave.
As always, thanks for stopping by – and remember, looking great is wonderful, but it’s not worth your health!
(PS: Note from the human behind the keyboard - aka playscale enthusiast - loving how the Fashion Royalty manicure doll hack is working out. First outfit post with them and they’re just gorgeous).
