Random Odd Combos

Do I need an excuse to share doll pictures?  Didn’t think so 😉 When I say I play with my dolls, this is what I’m talking about. I love mixing and matching and coming up with new combinations, so here are a handful from the last week:

Petite Wave 2 BMR1959 with white hair wig.

I didn’t purchase the “Storm” doll from Mattel.  It’s not that I don’t like her, I absolutely do, but I like being able to use my dolls for different storylines.  Storm is a very niche character.  I love the combination of white hair with the darker skin.  So pretty!

I shaved the hair off of my petite BMR and put a white wig on her - I even very carefully used nail polish remover (acetone) to erase those little baby hairs at her hairline - that was nerve-wracking for me. I used Faceapp to add movement and feathering to the hair, and that neat little sparkle effect.

The odd thing about this combination is that the fishnet sleeves stay up on this doll, whereas on the original doll, it required glue to hold it in place. I like this combination, her eyes and lips really pop with the color of the wings. Lovely.

Tall Wave 2 BMR1959 Barbie, restyled.

I may have been inspired by “Project Runway” here for this photo; the denim is from “Levitation Fashion” on Etsy and the houndstooth blazer is a part of the BMR1959 Wave 2 Petite ensemble. 

I used Faceapp to adjust her expression, makeup, and give her wispy bangs - I simply don’t have the skills to do it for real, or I would in a heartbeat.
