Tragedy

Hello readers,

I had a fourth of July post planned, but my heart just isn’t in it today.

Gory details aside, we Copenhageners experienced a shooting at our largest mall yesterday evening. I haven’t worked in the mall (Field’s) for many years, but I know people who do. None were injured, but even so, this one hit quite a bit closer to home for me.

The loss of life to such a senseless act of violence is never easy, let alone when it’s in your back yard. The peace of our safe city was shattered.

I don't know what to make of this world anymore. I don’t have the words to express my frustration or anger and nothing I could say would lend any meaningful comfort to the families of those who just lost someone they love.
