Capsule Warrobe # 14 - 16
We’re tackling three looks today – outfit 14, 15, & 16 -we’ve officially passed the halfway mark with today’s post!
Please pardon the bare bones backdrop. Our living room is having some serious remodeling done after a major rainstorm that literally left us with a small stream drizzling down from the ceiling! Apparently, the rain gutter couldn’t handle the torrential downpour and it burst, which meant the outside of the building (in the attic area, and just above our place) was being pelted with the rain that was being routed directly to it.
Our living room wall now runs the risk of growing living things – there’s only so much every towel we own can do to clean up that catastrophe – so the owner’s association agreed that we should call someone in to rip the wall down (!), dehumidify it, treat it with mold killer (better safe than sorry), then rebuild the part of the wall before repainting it. To say things are chaotic at the moment would be putting it mildly – right now, our couch is on top of our dining table and any and all Netflix watching has been relegated to our laptop.
As a result of the natural disaster that swept through the living room, these shots were taken in the hallway. Hopefully it’ll only take a week or two to fix…hopefully.
Willow decided to pair the lovely green blouse with the houndstooth slacks, tucked in of course, to show off her slender figure. She loves my pearls; I think I know what I’m getting her for Christmas. Simple, black pumps were ideal footwear for the polished look.
Obviously, I’ll be stealing everything that she puts together if I’m ever working in an office; she has such a great eye for professional looks.
Anne’s looks, on the other hand, are the ones that will be going with me if and when I ever end up back on a tropical vacation (yes, Cole, that’s a hint). Functional, comfortable, and cheerful. This look was no exception.
She happily donned the floral dress, which she layered under a white blouse—she’s braver than I am, eating while wearing white is a recipe for disaster—and she opted for comfy, white sneakers, though I’m fairly certain she was barefoot as soon as I put down the camera.
As for yours truly, I was happy to slide back into my tied-for-favorite jeans, a basic black top, and snuggle into my cozy, forest green cardigan.
If you can’t tell, I felt a bit on the drained side, something just zapped my energy - maybe it was frantically wiping the walls down for several hours during a rainstorm in the middle of the night? Hmmm…
As for you, dear readers, I hope everyone had a much less traumatic few days - may your homes not flood. How’s that for a toast? ;)
Thanks for stopping in and watching us surpass the halfway mark for our capsule challenge. See you next time :)
