Spoiled For Choice

Spoiled For Choice

I am such a silly creature. Today is the first outfit post since the capsule wardrobe challenge ended. I was so looking forward to having my vast empire of clothing at my disposal once more, but when the moment of truth came, staring into my full-to-bursting closet, I started thinking about the hundreds, if not thousands, of combinations waiting for me there.

It was a little overwhelming. I must have sat there, adrift in the realm of possibilities for a good twenty minutes or so. It’s a good thing I was up early, but oh my, what is wrong with me? Granted, it’s been a while since I was so spoiled for choice, but I wasn’t expecting quite this reaction.

Taking a step back, I realized the one thing that genuinely bothered me with regards to my self-imposed challenge was the lack of accessories. I honestly missed my bling, especially my earrings. Necklaces are lovely, bracelets are too, but earrings are my shiny weakness.

I was so happy when I opened up my jewelry box to re-discover all the bits and bobs that were abandoned, and downright neglected this last month.  I knew exactly which pair of earrings I wanted to wear first, no hesitation.  After that, things got much, much easier.  I’m not really a metal mixer – gold with gold, silver with silver – I know other people who mix and make it look fantastic, I’m just not there yet.  So, gold bangles were pretty much my only wrist-wear option.  That’s easy enough, and they look great together.

The delicate earrings and gold bangles on my wrist made me feel feminine and soft.  Inspired, I decided to enhance that by adding my green scarf and my empire-waist lace blouse.  My leggings felt a little too edgy, so I stuck with my never-fail denim, and finished off the look with my darling, pearl heels.  It was touch and go at first, but worked out in the end.  Granted, it’s a very simple look, but it’s reasonably comfy, and ever so slightly sexy – perfect for date night….assuming we have another one (that’s another post…)

Thanks for stopping in and I’ll see you next time :)
