Wonderful Valentines
Cole humored me earlier this evening and posed for a few outfit photos. I’m glad that he did, it’s a rare thing when I get to post about men’s fashion at all.
I occasionally stalk Suit Supply’s website and fantasize about getting something custom for his birthday, their styles are fantastic and always fresh. Their ad campaigns are a little “Mad Men” for me, but they role reversed when their line of women’swear came out, so I guess they’re just a fan of people not wearing anything, if they’re not in one of their suits.
Tough to argue with that.
As to my man, he chose to pattern mix (bold choice) today because he felt it looked good together – and he’s not wrong. He looks fantastic and I, for one, am a big fan of men wearing fitted vests. He looks particularly dashing in this one, doesn’t he? It’s such a great way to add polish to a simple shirt and slacks combination, without adding the necessity of a tie.
That doesn’t mean I’m not going to try and get him into a proper suit one of these days, though with his build, it’ll definitely need to be custom.
I went the safe route and chose a simple, blush cocktail dress. It’s a bit (more than a bit) on the low-cut side for me, but Cole said it was perfect. I was comfortable enough, so I agreed to wear it tonight. Couldn’t resist the soft, lovely fabric. I embraced the simplicity of the dress and how delicate I felt while wearing it. I decided to pair it with classic, white pearl accessories – can’t really go wrong with pearls, can you?
As it happens, I’m not the only one in this household who is terrible at keeping secrets. I’d had just about all I could of taking outfit photos when Cole said he had one more he wanted to take. He set the timer (which we never use) on the camera and re-assured me that we wouldn’t be late for dinner. I couldn’t have imagined what had gotten into him, he’s usually resistant to photos and blog participation in general.
Then he got down on one knee and asked me a very important question…
Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you next time.
