Winter Blues
The weather usually dictates what people wear, and not just in the essential ways, like keeping warm. This time of year, I see a lot of dark hues and muted colors, lots of grey and black; it’s the color palette of winter, I suppose. Yesterday was overcast and chilly with a steady drizzle of rain; it was downright gloomy!
I decided to embrace the blues, the color that is, and wear this cute thrift store find. Statement jackets are a great way to interject some fun into colder-weather wear. I simply couldn’t resist the gorgeous color, and the yellow, floral detailing practically screamed “Smile!”
Yellow is not a color I wear very often, but this bright, cheerful top went so well with the jacket, I just had to take a chance on it. I think it paid off, and I enjoyed having a dash of sunshine with me everywhere I went.
As it turns out, Lapis Blue and Primrose Yellow were both quite popular on the catwalks for the Spring/Summer looks, perhaps I’m just eager for the season to change.
I may have taken the sunny feel a little too far with the shades, but I felt like they just worked. I turned quite a few heads wearing this outfit – they were probably just wondering what the crazy person was thinking, but I’ll take it as a compliment all the same.
What are some things you wear to combat the winter blues?
Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you next time :)
