Capsule Wardrobe # 9
As you already know if you read the first capsule wardrobe post, Anne chose two loud, floral pieces for this little project. If I’m being completely honest, I was apprehensive when she did so—one would have been okay, but two? I had my doubts. That being said, I can sometimes admit when I’m wrong, and this is one such instance.
So far, the floral pieces have turned out to be decently versatile. The dress has been worn solo, layered to look like a maxi skirt, and the blouse has meshed well with both jeans and, as you’ll see in the look today, leggings:
For this outfit, I felt like the black knit leggings and floral blouse could use a dash of sass, so I put Anne in a pair of heeled boots. She’s a bit outside her comfort zone—she doesn’t really wear heels often—but we’re both pleased with the overall look, and agree it’s a nice choice for a date night, or an evening out with just us gals.
Because the colorful pattern pops out against the black, we wanted to make sure the look maintained a soft, sweet feel—much like the model herself. We kept her hair natural and down, adding a supple, green scarf to the mix.
I hope you’re enjoying our capsule wardrobe so far—I know I’m having fun putting the looks together. Thanks for stopping in :)
